Clear ruby, medium intensity. The nose is clean, with aromas of black berries and cherries. The nose is of medium (+) intensity and complexity. The palate is dry but fruit forward, with medium alcohol at 14%, medium to medium acidity and medium to medium tannins. It is smoother and rounder than the 2011 and is perhaps even more quaffable, with pleasant, sweet baking spice on the medium long finish. This is a nice, soft, balanced wine which is good by itself or with light foods.
