Beaujolais
Aroma: dark, juicy, slightly peppery, slightly woodsy red cherry, and black raspberry!
Taste: yum! Developed fruit up front and then the mid palate is just a little bit crunchy with some gravelly structure. There's a fun pepperiness to it that makes me think at least some of the fruit is whole cluster and you get a little bit of that brambly profile from the stems. The fruit just has the perfect weight up front with just the right amount of acidity: kind of round but energetic at the same time. The finish gets darker and brambley. Some tannins sneak in and make it lip smacking and chewy. There's a hint of rosemary and sage along with the raspberry fruit and then a touch of orange zest as well! The flavors on the finish give the wine a more dynamic complex character but bottom line: this is a delicious and well balanced fantastic value of a Beaujolais
